HR Giger lived at the heart of Zurich in a virtually self-contained, parallel universe. In this space, plucked out of time and behind closed shutters, day blurs into night. Only his family, closest friends and a few assistants are privy to his realm. The film carefully probes its way through this world, exploring a life which has been packed with many surprises, cruel blows of fate and great achievements (an Oscar for “Alien”).
