The action takes place in an abandoned hotel in the Swiss mountains. The hotel used to belong to the grandparents of the narrator, who was born and grew up there. He is visiting the place for the last time. Characters emerge from the past, involved in long-forgotten rituals. The narrative is structured in the manner of a pool game: one ball collides with another thus altering its own course. Through this process stories generate one another, interact and develop.
